These are weak referee's and thet are everywhere in Rugby on the pitch and the ones on the video evidence . Tv has killed Sport .

The head touching is too sensitive, it should be DANGEROUS, not just touching, no-one will be able to tackle on the chest area, if there is a high chance of heads touching...as for scrums going forward or swinging or head popping up or elbow touching...there is a law to penalise either side. Maybe allow the outside hand to stay on ground to steady the scrum? Scrumhalve touches the ball with any part, the play should be on, as in the 1980's.

It is no surprise that the Southern Hemisphere teams always win the Rugby world cup the rules alter according to what gives them the advantage even in the middle of a game. Free Kicks are even given against some for simply raising an eyebrow. Intentional knock ons to deny tries do not result in penalty tries. Sick to death of rugby referees and their bias.

Toughen the F up. Its a collision sport not soccer. Stop with the ridiculous rules and interpretations of said rules.

Scrums were a disaster. Ref had zero clue. Almost looked as if he decided before the game to give each side penalties and just balance the calls. I am sure Rassie and co sent a strong review and query document to the officials post-match.

I honestly find it hard to watch a game of rugby anymore. The sport has been ruined. Refs and TMOs have too much say in the outcome of a game, not the players/teams ability. And on the flipside of that there is so much confusion and cheating going on at the ruck. Players can't take matters into their own hands to stop the nonsense like they did in the past and they also know the ref isn't going to stop ever ruck for a penalty, so each player will play the law of averages and see how much they can get away with before someone gets pinged. Its total chaos on times.

Even with accepting that errors will be made, the inconsistencies between decisions is baffling! They need to provide a simplified decision making framework for referees that incorporates common sense and letting rugby be rugby! Rugby is hazardous, you can’t mitigate that out of the game and trying to make rugby safer and not made it safer just less enjoyable!

A highly rusted, underperforming Springbok team and they still managed to trashed Wales. You can only see this as a practice game for the mighty BOKS. I recon they will beat Ireland by 1 point just to proof a point.

The game is called rugby union….., it’s played by real men!!!! I’m a kiwi hence I support the All Blacks!!!! And player’s get mud in the eye…. Always Ref to Blame Just Stop. Players should be Carefull and Play with minimal Mistakes and Prevent Injuries like the High Kick Defend in Player Face.

There is no doubt SA is a good team. That is not the issue. The issue is the game itself where even officials can’t properly judge a blatant forward pass.

I was an avid all black supporter but after the World Cup final sending off and decisions like these I no longer barrack for rugby union I’m an NRL supporter now

International rugby is dying on its arse and has given a foothold for other sports to get ahead. Only a select few countries play and even they are getting sick and tired of it this has gone on way to long

Yes it gets baffling game to game and week to week. A team of four with many camera angles for the TMO plus the linesmen and ref get it so wrong so often yet viewers seem to be unanimous on what actually happened and I am not trying to faceous. There is also no consistency from officials teams managing each game as if the interpreation depends on the people, moon and weather. I am a South African and that was clearly a forward pass and an injustice against Wales. Headgear of some form needs to be mandated and if you don't want to adhere to headgear as a player you should sign a waiver that you're responsible for any head injuries moving forward freeing up the system from you legally and we end this endless head nonsense. Besides weird calls here and there were some in the Bulls vs Leinster and Bull vs Glasgow games both ways and most others.

For a while I have confused what a forward pass is these days. At least that first forward pass in my opinion, the Springbok player receiver was behind the the passer.

As an independent rugby fan with no allegiance to either team I had to stop watching this match because of the refereeing and TMO decision spoiling the enjoyment

Let's be honest. The Ref knew that SA was going to dominate the scrums and felt inclined to intervene on a few occasions. You can have the forward pass try with pleasure disallowed , but what would the score have been if SA got awarded all those scrum penalties. Seems like Wales had an extra two players in the game ,they probably felt bad for Wales and thought we would lend them a hand.If SA played their strongest team, it would have been a cricket score. Fare play to Wales having a go.Hope the Refs in the Irish/Sa series are fair.

I love your videos and analysis. The TMO's have been given far too much power, and it appears that *no* referee can apply the scrum laws consistently. However, I disagree with your stance on the "boot to the face" incidents. If the tackler isn't ducking down (and in this instance the Wales player wasn't), the onus of safety is on the player jumping up. Same thing we saw in the World Cup.

I think all thsi rules have ruined rugby....as long is not head n face contact game must go on......let's all remember rugby is world most contact sport so let's rugby be rugby....we all see this video here there's some contacts where they not even fealt by this players but given by refs.......

Yes first pass was forward, stop seeking excuses. Second pass the ball was inline and pointing backwards. Tackle made on nr 18 was shoulder to head and to contest with arms. Again look at true facts and how the incidents took place. Stop crying you p#$$¥$ If only we could go back to 90's rugby again

100% forward pass I screamed it on the day (and I support SA) TMO was overused in this game but there it should of intervened😊

Spot on, the referees have so many rules to consider that they forget half of them. The margin for error is so high that it's impossible to be consistent.

Shocking refereeing, the forward passes were blatant, and had a huge impact on the game.

It would be great if the TMO only got involved when the incident is so clear that onfield decision needs to be overruled without discussion. I think this would make the TMO interfere a lot less because in the end it is fully his responsibility and decision. It would save time and it would increase credibility because we would avoid hearing discussions where part of the ref team clearly disagrees which makes it even more frustrating.

This is an all too common theme in World Rugby. Even here in NZ the situation is slightly less dire regarding Refereeing. We rely too much on going upstairs to nar nar land' where the stupid decisions are really officiated!!

World Rugby are killing the game. Very sad state of affairs - too much regulation, they should focus on preserving the game rather than slapping more red tape on it.

How they missed the blatant forward passes is beyond me but you're right about the scrum, you might as well not have them. There is no contest as the ball goes into the 2nd row and so long as you didn't pop up when you drive inward, you win the scrum.

When a passer of the ball keeps running it is seen to be a fair pass because the body speed forward has a continuous momentum. However if the passer is stopped abruptly in a tackel it appears to be forward.

this kid doesn't have enything better to do than to watch the entire game over and search every singel mistake the ref made against wales if some one went and listed all the mistakes the ref made against the springboks it would be just as much!And it's not even that big of a game it's just a test mach bro chill out danm thats rugby not every foul is seen grow up and even if wales got all there fouls i promise you the springboks would still win them!
